1906 vintage Colt Bisley Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 283810. 4 - 3/4" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF with 2 line Colt Hartford, CT address, blade front sight, and hammer notch rear. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. Factory letter indicates shipment as a blue 4 - 3/4" .44-40 to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri, in a shipment of 3 sent October 6th, 1906. CONDITION: Very good, with original finishes beginning to fade to a brown-gray patina overall with original bluing and case colors visible underneath and in protected areas. 2 added "X" hash markings are visible on backstrap. Original gutta percha grips fit well with no visible cracks or major signs of distress. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand and is tight. Bore is frosted with scattered heavy abrasion throughout and visible rifling. TON
