This is the last of the U.S. military .38 caliber swing-out series that began in 1889. Has all the small inspector marks, along with "RAC" (Renaldo Carr) on left side of frame. Left side of frame is stamped with 1903, which was the last update of the Model 1901. Blued finish, six shot, double action with smooth walnut grips. Lanyard ring missing. Frame retains 95% of the reapplied blue finish. Cylinder retains 70%. Barrel retains 40% with good markings. Grips are very good. Indexes and locks up perfectly with strong, clean bore. This swing-out U.S. issue series is probably the last frontier in collecting U.S. military handguns in that there are many variations and yet are relatively inexpensive compared to other military issue handguns.
