Every single part on this early pistol is original, period to gun. To include: Type II barrel with perpendicular H.P. stamp. (Number 25001 to 110000); Type II rear sight with beveled edge and U notch. Post 62000; Type III magazine (42000 - 125566); Type II approved approved February 5th, 1914; Walter G. Penfield Inspector Stamp (Serial number 1 - 101500); Left side patent date February 14, 1911, (1 - 83855); Type II Pony, left side, no circle (20001 - 128500). Other features include diamond checkered walnut grips, flat mainspring housing with loop, long smooth trigger, checkered slide stop and safety. CONDITION: Straps are grey patina, 80% blue on grip safety, overall high edge wear. Solid 85% original high polish blue with some scattered age freckling. Near mint bore, slightly frosted, fine action. It is extremely difficult to find an 1911 US Army this early with this much condition that has not been messed with or touched in any way. A beautiful example. CORRECTION: The Type III barrel is stamped with "HP" in line with bore that began at serial number 110001. Type II rear sight is flat top with beveled notch, introduced September 15th, 1913.
