Cal .348 WCF, barrel 24". Manufactured in 1949. Offered is a fine deluxe Winchester Model 71 lever action rifle. These were built on the Model 1886 action and are referred to by collectors as a short tang. The deluxe model featured checkered pistol grip, walnut stock with Winchester cap and Winchester sling swivels. This rifle sports the standard blued finish. Other features include: full round barrel, half magazine, sporting rear sight and ramp front site (no hood). This rifle remains in near mint condition retaining nearly all the original blue finish with the exception of one 1/4" rub on the left side of rear frame. The receiver sight holes on the left side are missing the filler screws. The stocks are in beautiful, near mint condition, proud to metal, sharp checkering. No cracks or chips and retaining the majority of the original finish. Has a fine bore and action. This is an absolutely beautiful big bore deluxe rifle.
