Manufactured October 1954 to end of production 1956. Barrel is dated "2-54" and stamped "LMR" Wrist of stock has block letter proof "P" (correct). Left side of stock has the DOD inspection stamp, which is 1/2" eagle and stars in square used after November 1953. Bolt is stamped "6528287HRA" with a "U" underneath (not correct). Has the correct Type IV post-war sight stamped "IHC DRC" on right side (correct). Trigger group is Springfield (not correct). CONDITION: Metal retains the majority of its arsenal applied military finish. Stocks are excellent with usual dings. Appears as if the rear hand guard has been replaced, does not match the rest of stock. Comes with a period green web sling. ME Reading: 1. Gun is basically International Harvester with the wrong bolt and trigger group but should be easy to put this in correct, matching condition with little expense out of pocket. This is a relatively nice example of a post-Korean wear light rebuild.
