Falling block self cocking single shot rifle made in Besancon, France by Kuhn circa 1870. Blued half round half octagon rifled barrel with integral front dovetail based blade front sight and adjustable notch rear sight with barrel flat marked "Canon Kuhn". Case hardened "Frog Eye" action with self cocking lever mechanism. Walnut military style stock with 2 iron bands and an iron front nosecap. Crescent steel buttplate with steel ramrod. Stock has plugged cut out, possibly from presentation or owners plate. CONDITION: 90% fading blue with balance turning a plum patina. 90% fading case colors. 80% original varnish with handling marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
