Lot consists of: (A) Smith Corona Model 03-A3 bolt action rifle. Made in early 1943 with a "S C/ 11-42 " dated barrel. Standard blade front sight, rifle is missing its rear. Stamped blued steel Smith Corona trigger guard. Bolt is Remington. Receiver, barrel and bolt retain there parkerized finish. Hardwood stock with a faint "circle P" under the wrist. Faint, illegible arsenal marks on the left side. Checkered buttplate is missing its trap door. Rear band spring is loose. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with general wear, patina and some mild surface rust in areas. Stock is fair with heavy wear and signs of use. Large gouge in the wrist area. Bore is frosted with shootable rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 bolt action rifle. Receiver made in 1918 with a replacement "U.S.M.C./7-41, (circle S)" marked barrel. Barrel made by Sedgely and sold on contract to the Marine Corps. Blued finish on the bolt, receiver and barrel. Remington marked bolt dated "42". Standard 1903 sights, rear sight elevation adjustable knob is broken off. Milled trigger guard. Replacement, scant style stock with a smooth finish metal buttplate. No markings on the stock, other than a rack number on the comb "2A166". CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with wear and patina. Stock is fair with numerous dings and scratches. There is a crack in the tang and in the hand guard. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
