Lot consists of (A) Luxembourg contract FN-49 rifle with sling. Rifle has a crisp "AL" crest on the top of the receiver. Numbers match, but there is an extra "8081" number on the side plate of the receiver. Rifle does not appear to be import marked. Belgian proofs. Stock is not numbered, nor is the magazine. There is a "LB" acceptance stamp above the magazine well on the stock. Leather sling does not appear to be correct. CONDITION: Overall good. Metal retains 80% of its paint like finish, with light handling marks and wear in some areas. Stock is fair with numerous dings and scratches. The butt has a chunk missing under the buttplate. Handguard is loose. Bore is frosted with fair rifling left. Sling is good. (B) Egyptian contract FN-49 rifle. Crisp Egyptian crest on the top of the receiver. Numbers on the gun do not match. No visible import mark on the rifle. Belgian proofs. Stock is not numbered, but stock disc does show some Arabic writing. CONDITION: Overall good. Metal retains 70% of its original black paint finish, with generous wear and handling marks in areas. Stock is good with numerous dings and scratches. Bore is frosted, with worn rifling. A solid pair of FN-49's for your shooting collection. JA
