Lot consists of (A) International Harvester M1 Garand rifle with canvas sling. 1955-56 production International Harvester receiver with a 10/65 Springfield barrel date. Most parts appear to be marked Springfield. Bolt is "HRA" marked. Early style trigger guard. Other parts appear to be later style. Department of Defense stock, with U.S. acceptance mark. Sling is marked "MRT". CONDITION: Overall excellent condition. Metal is clean and retains 95% of its original finish. Stock is excellent as well with light handling marks. Bore has some shine to it and very good rifling. Muzzle measures 1, throat 0. Sling is excellent. (B) 1957 production Springfield Armory M1 Garand with black canvas sling and buttstock cleaning kit. Has correct 1956 barrel and what appears to be all Springfield parts. All parts are later production, meaning this rifle may have never been rebuilt. Stock is Department of Defense marked and retains its U.S. acceptance stamp. Sling is unmarked. CONDITION: Overall excellent condition. Metal retains 95% of its original finish. Stock is excellent with light handling marks. Bore is good with sharp rifling. Muzzle gauges at 1.5, throat at 2. Sling is very good, as is the buttstock cleaning kit. A great pair of post Korea M1 Garands for any collection. JA
