Lot consists of: (A) U.S. Army Marked Model 1917. Standard World War I US issue with Army marking stamped on butt and GHS Gilbert Stewart inspector stamp on left side of frame. These featured a 5 - 1/2" barrel, commercial quality factory blue finish, six shot, double action, oil grooved hump-back hammer, two piece smooth walnut grips and a lanyard ring. CONDITION: Grey patina on straps, still retains 75-80% blue. Appears that the barrel and cylinder were put on later as they are much nicer than the frame. Grips are also correct style replacements and are slightly shy to metal. Action is fine and the bore is sharp but slightly frosted. (B) 1937 Brazilian Contract Model 1917. Has the crest of Brazil on right side of frame. Same configuration as above but grips are replacement commercial style pre-War type checkered grips with silver medallion. CONDITION: Gun retains approximately 60% original blue finish with some age spotting, various nicks and some minor pitting on left side of barrel. Strong rifling with minor frosting. Good action. Lot also comes with a 1918 style reproduction US holster.
