Lot consists of (A) Martially marked Winchester Model 1897 "Riot Gun". 20 - 3/4" barrel chambered in 12 gauge, cylinder bore, with 2 - 3/4" chamber. Blue with plain straight grain walnut stock and grooved forearm. Checkered steel buttplate. "U.S" with Ordnance Department "flaming bomb" stamp on left side of frame. "Flaming bomb" on barrel breech. CONDITION: Fine overall with 50% original blue mixed with brown patina on frame. Barrel 10-15% original blue blending with brown patina. Wood is lightly refinished showing minimum wear. Bore is bright, action is tight and crisp. (B) Commercial Model 1897 slide action shotgun. 30" plain barrel, chambered in 12 gauge, full choke, 2 - 3/4" chamber. Plain straight grain walnut stock and grooved forearm. Round knob pistol grip. Checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Good, with overall metal a clean grey brown patina. Wood is sound, shows heavy use with scattered dings and dents. Bore is fine with moderate abrasion. Action is tight and crisp. -MKS-
