L.C. Smith Field Grade shotgun made by Hunter Arms Company Fulton, New York in 1940. 26" Armor Steel barrels with raised matted rib, bead front and mid sights, extractors; barrels marked with Hunter address at breech and "FIELD" grade marking. 2 - 3/4" chambers and Modified and Improved Cylinder chokes. Case hardened sidelock frame with double triggers and 2-position safety. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with original hard rubber buttplate and grip cap. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with friction release. CONDITION: 90%+ remaining of what appears to be original finish on barrels, fading to a plum color. 90% case colors with trigger guard and forearm iron showing some silvery carry wear. Action has phenomenal screws. 90% original varnish with some flaking and light handling marks. Bright and shiny mirror bores with crisp mechanics. DLM
