Circa 1902. A vintage boxlock 12 bore with 30" Damascus steel barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, and fit for side clips. Barrels are fit with a smooth concave tapered rib that is fit with a steel round front bead sight and an extension. Rib reads "MIDLAND GUN Co. BIRMINGHAM". Bottom rib with "17448", the gun's serial number. Barrel flats with appropriate Nitro Proofs and are stamped "12-70", "850 BAR", NITRO PROOF", 1 1/4". Chokes are Modified in left barrel and Improved Cylinder in right. Silver gray patina boxlock action is furnished with sideclips, cross bolt, and double blacked bladed triggers. Blacked engraved top lever with checkered thumb piece sits ahead of a blacked scored safe slide. Gun is non-auto safe. The straight grained reddish brown walnut stock with drop points is built with a point checkered English straight hand grip, gold oval, and finished with a pig skin leather covered recoil pad. Triggers are protected by a blacked engraved trigger guard which extends to a 3/4 length bottom strap which is also scroll engraved and bears the guns serial number "17448". Splinter forend is checkered and built with a blacked scroll engraved escutcheon with checkered Anson push release. Iron metal is engraved and internal iron metal is case hardened. Gun lives is an English style British tan VC case. Case with cleaning tools and two piece cleaning rod. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain mostly all of the Damascus finish. Action, ejectors, and triggers operate well. Stock benefits from restoration. Forend is good. Case is very good.
