Produced by Mauser in 1944. K98 pattern chambered for the 8X57 German cartridge. Blue finished barrel, bolt, bands and sight cover. Rubber muzzle cap. Bright steel smooth buttplate with red paint on interior. Phosphate finished stamped trigger guard assembly. All matching numbers throughout, on entire bolt assembly and receiver. Stock is waffenamt marked at wrist WAa165 below bolt disassembly disk. No serial numbers found internally on handguard nor butt stock. No numbers on butt plate. Trigger guard is waffenamt /BYF and no serial numbers. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and honest. Rifle is near unissued condition with slight soiling to laminated stock from handling. Bore is pristine and bolt face shows no evidence of actual use. No import markings, Cleaning rod is equally fine. Several small bruises exit from storage but a better example would be very difficult to obtain. TDW
