Standard configuration Single Action Army revolver manufactured by Colt in 1920. Metal components have been entirely refinished in a dark high polish blue finish. Frame is mounted with a set of non original 2-piece wood grips with "COLT" within a diamond at the top. Interior of left grip panel bears hand inscribed markings. Top of barrel is stamped with Colt's single line address, with the left side being marked "45 COLT". Left side of frame bears patent stampings followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Matching numbers are found on the frame, cylinder, grip strap, and butt. Assembly number "249" is present on the rear of the frame as well as on the loading gate. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .45 Colt 5 - 1/2" gun sent to Union Hardware & Metal Company, Los Angeles, California, in a shipment of 2 sent February 4th, 1920. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, showing a few areas of wear and some scattered handling and storage marks. Factory stampings are soft, but legible. Bore is bright, showing some light areas of pitting and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips are poorly fit and show smoothing and wear all around. MLW
