This rifle was built on the 44-1/2 action. The half octagon barrel was not made by Stevens and is stamped "Rebored and Rifled by J. Stevens". It is stamped under forearm "38-55". Features half octagon blued barrel, case color frame, walnut stock with Swiss butt, double set triggers, and hooded front sight. No rear barrel cut but does have scope blocks with tang sight base. CONDITION: Barrel retains 99% probably done by Stevens when bored. Frame has 98% bright factory colors. Wood is superb. Near mint bore and fine action. A beautiful Pope style target rifle.
