Winchester Model 1886 made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1903. 22" blued full octagon barrel with 2-line Winchester address, caliber marking of 38-56 W.C.F., bead blade front sight, and notch adjustable rear sight. Blued solid frame receiver with blued full tubular magazine, plain trigger, and tang marked "MODEL 1886". Plain walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate and matching plain walnut forearm. Comes with factory research. Factory research does not indicate barrel length, but according to Madis barrels should measure 1/8" less than length, which is true on this gun which measures 21 -7/8", and magazine band 3 - 1/2" from tip of magazine, also true on this gun. This gun has all the traits of a correct short rifle. CONDITION: 98% remaining of a total reblue with light handling marks. Stock has been lightly cleaned with usage dings and marks. Pitted bore with good mechanics. Excellent and rare restoration project. DLM
