Built in 1963 this little .410 with a 26" round blued steel barrel was built with a ventilated rib and a white round front bead sight and 3" chamber. Barrel reads "WINCHESTER TRADE MARK", "MODEL 42 - 410 - 3 IN. CHAM.-", "MADE IN U.S.A. - WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-". The shiny black receiver reads "163178" for the gun's serial number. The guns black single trigger is protected by its black trigger guard. The medium brown well figured walnut stock has a size appropriate pistol grip with sharp checkering, blacked steel grip cap, and finished with a black checkered "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." butt plate. The nicely figured American walnut forearm slide matched sharp checkering. Howard Hawks’ collection piece with notarized letter of Provenance included from Howard’s granddaughter Kate Hawks, daughter of his son Peter Hawks. Biography included of Howard Winchester Hawks – an American film director, producer and screenwriter of the classic Hollywood era. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains nearly all of its original color. Action and trigger are sound. Safety removed. Stock very good with slight impairments at butt plate. Forend very good. CP
