Built in 2001. This 12 gauge handsome game gun is fitted with blued 28", 2 - 3/4" chopper lump barrels are built with the Holland & Holland self-opening mechanism, ejectors, matte, tapered rib with brass round front bead sight. The top of the right barrel reads "GRIFFIN & HOWE NEW YORK". Barrel bottoms stamped with "****" for chokes Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder and "18.5" for interior bore diameter. Barrel flats stamped "12-70" for gauge and chamber length. Barrel flats also with serial number "57-03-202-01", appropriate Spanish proof marks and with importers stamp of "Griffin &Howe NY NY". Scroll on rib and barrels at breech. The coin finished round-bodied fully engraved sidelock action with Holland & Holland style hand detachment lever has gold-lined cocking indicators. The five-pin side lock plates are engraved with scrolls, flower bouquets, flying quail over field on left lock, and flying pheasant over field on right. Fences are also engraved with scroll and fitted with gas escape ports. Bottom action with scroll engraving and "GRIFFIN & HOWE NEW YORK" inlaid in gold. Action fitted with set disk strikers, double triggers with front being articulated. The right-hand rolled-edged trigger guard is with full engraved scrolls which extend through the full bottom strap also engraved with the gun's abbreviated serial number "No202-01". Very nice engraving executed by "V. Alberdi" signature is on left lock at forwards pheasants head. Top lever is also engraved with matching tight scroll and thumbpiece is checkered. Safety slide is engraved and lightly checkered and "SAFE" is in gold. The gun's rich honey-colored straight grain stock through English straight grip is also smoky with a bit of tiger striping on its right-hand side. Buttstock is 3/4 checkered. The matching forend has matched checkering, engraved escutcheon, and exterior iron metal. The Anson-styled push-button forend tip is checkered. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels remain with 98% original blue. The left barrel with small indentation approximately 11" from breech. Bottoms of both barrels with slight handling and rub marks. Action is tight on face, ejectors timed well, triggers are crisp. Stock and action with light handling marks. Nice and handsome game gun. CP
