Set number two in the first series made as fundraiser for Safari Club International in the late 1970s, combining high quality and reliability with a variety of barrels and scopes to suit the needs of the "one gun" world-wide hunter. Barrel set No. 1 (A) Cal. .375 H & H over .375 H & H, 25" blued steel barrels have full length matted rib, swamped in center, forming quarter rib with 3 leaf express sight (leaves are marked 50, 100, & 150) and claw mounts, and ramp front with silver bead. Fitted with B Nickel 1 – 4x scope with 3 post and crosshair duplex reticle, is in soldered on claw mounts. Barrel set No. 2 (B) Cal. 20 Ga (3" chambers) over .270 Winchester, 25" blued steel barrels, fitted with full length solid matted rib with pivoting triangular double U-notch, and claw scope bases. Over barrel is choked Improved Modified. Fitted with B Nickel 1.5–6x42 scope with heavy 3 post and crosshair duplex reticle, in claw rings. Barrel set No. 3 (C): Cal. 20 Ga over 20 Ga, 3" chambers, 28 - 1/4" blued steel barrels with full length matted ventilated top rib. White bead front sight. Chokes are Full in the over barrel and Modified in the under barrel. All barrels are inlaid in gold on top ribs “SCI No. 02” and stamped “FRIEDRICH WILH. HEYM”. Each barrel set is fitted with its own ejector 1 piece forend and stamped ”KRUPP SPECIAL LAUFSTAHL” and “MADE IN W.- GERMANY”. Each barrel set has a stud for sling swivel soldered on the bottom barrel. Bottom barrels are stamped with SNs, barrel numbers, and proofs. Scroll engraving is at breech. Coin finished pinless detachable sidelock over/under action features non-automatic checkered slide safety (“SAFE” engraved), red hexagon at rear of tang visible when safety is off, protruding pin cocking indicators, double Kersten lock, reinforcing bolsters, and double triggers (front trigger set) protected by an engraved, blued and flat profile trigger guard. Fences and bolsters are engraved with relief acanthus. Blued top lever is checkered on both sides. Action and lockplates have nearly full coverage of nicely cut open shaded scroll engraving; framing semi relief scenes of grizzly bear strolling through woodlands on left lockplate, and pair of pheasants flushing from meadow on right. “FR. WILH. HEYM” is in scroll terminated arched banner on bottom of action body. Nicely figured, and slightly streaked European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14 - 3/8" over brown Pachmayr “Old English” pad, and features point pattern checkering with line border, engraved steel grip cap with Heym logo at center, stud for sling swivel and very nicely rendered scrimshawed inlay of SCI logo on left side of stock. Matching forends have Deeley style releases, and are numbered on irons for each barrel set. Brown leather case with brass plated corners is lined with dark green cloth, with space for action, all 3 barrels, and both scopes, and contains a nickel plated round oil bottle, loops for sling, Heym certificates for each barrel set, and targets for rifles. CONDITION: Excellent, barrels are tight on action, triggers are crisp, bores are bright and rifling is sharp. Number 1 barrel set has modelling in bluing on left side of middle rib under forend near breech. Case is excellent with a few storage/handling marks. A great gun! CP
