AC Spark Plug M3 Browning .50 caliber machine gun manufactured in late 1941 or early 1942 according to serial number. This gun has the highly desirable switch for single shot or automatic fire capability. Attractive wood handle grips. Three heavy barrels, one of which has a carrying bail attached, and one standard barrel (in a steel AA shroud) are included. A 1943 dated “Central Steel Tube Co” tripod with stirrup and Traverse & Elevation is also included, as well as a plate type belt-loading machine and an original Korean war vintage gun cover as would have been used to cover the gun while mounted on a tank. Electronic NFA registry indicates “UNKNOWN” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original dull grey finish generally covered with dust and some patina from storage. Tripod is extremely fine. G.I. cover is unissued in cardboard box. Bores of barrels have strong lands and rifling with the darkness that come from long-term storage. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp and positive. This is a select-fire machine gun. It is quite uncommon to find a .50 caliber Browning manufactured this early.
