This is a Saco-Lowell manufactured M60 machine gun. National Firearms Act electronic registry shows manufacturer simply as, “US”. Receiver is marked, “GUN, MACHINE / 7.62-MM, M60 / SACO LOWELL SHOPS / U.S.”. There are NO other markings on the receiver of this gun; verified after close inspection after disassembly. We may be looking at a Curio & Relic eligible U. S. marked M-60 here folks! There were at least 14 trunnions which escaped from the factory prior to 1968 which were then built up into guns, and at least 7 were registered during the Amnesty. All the evidence indicates this is one of these guns. This gun came from the estate collection of a collector known for his expertise and discerning eye within the collecting community. The M60 machine gun was the staple for US forces during the Vietnam War and into the contemporary Army era. Instantly recognizable by veterans and as seen in films, its steady rate of fire combined with the ability to quickly change barrels make it a very popular machine gun. Only external serial number is at left side of trunnion. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near excellent. Feed tray near excellent with some gray patina in feedway. Inside of receiver shows only slight use. Top cover has slight loss of finish. Composite furnishings near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. There is no doubt that this is an investment grade specimen, and an incredible opportunity for the advanced American military historian and machine gun enthusiast. If you don’t get this gun, someday you will wish you had. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
