Fine Inland US M2 Carbine so marked on the receiver with Inland marked 1945 dated barrel and in the correct high six million serial number range. As so many were, this gun has been retrofitted with adjustable rear peep sight and bayonet lug forward barrel band. Flip safety, four rivet hand guard, and round bolt on this carbine. Includes four 30 round magazines and four 15 round magazines and one Lift-the-Dot web sling. Receiver serial number is the only visible serial number. The M2 Carbine was fielded at the very end of World War II with most going to the Pacific Theater. On this particular specimen the "2" of "M2" on the receiver was initially left blank upon receiver manufacture, and then stamped into the received when the gun was completed. These guns saw service during the end of World War II and throughout the Korean and Vietnam War eras and were even supplied to other countries by the United States thereafter. The stock of this carbine has a professionally impressed "536 8858" into the stock on the left side. This and other details indicate that this gun may have been extended on loan to Israel and eventually came back to the United States. This gun is a pre-May 1986 dealer sample currently on an ATF Form 3 at Morphy’s annotated as “LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE”. As a pre-86 dealer sample, this gun can be retained privately when an active FFL/SOT dealer in a "sole proprietor" status relinquishes their license, subject to any state and local restrictions, and upon BATF approval. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent over 90% grey arsenal refinish with some significant thinning to a grey patina where the bolt and charging handle rides on the receiver. Wood is very attractive, extremely fine, with some light handling marks and a couple tiny chips where right side of receiver meets the wood. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is fine. Mechanics are fine. This is a select fire machine gun. A fine late World War II manufactured collectible carbine which will also be a great shooter. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE AS A PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE ONLY TO ACTIVE CURRENT FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 ONLY.
