Interesting German World War II MG34 with solitary Waffenwerke Brunn "(eagle) / 63" proof on left side of receiver with top of shroud bearing only a serial number without any maker codes or proofmarks. This leads this cataloger to consider that this shroud may have originally been fielded as an armorer’s replacement part. Aside from the shroud and the top of the receiver, the numbers on this gun are non-matching. There are two spare barrels (one is dot 1940, and the other Israeli), one sand colored accessory can with permanent insert, two 50-round metal belt segments, and two 100-round belts (a broken apart fortress belt with missing tab end). Two 50-round assault drums (baskets which clip onto the feed tray and each would hold a 50 round belt of ammunition) are also included. Bipod is “98E” with adjustment knob. Top cover is “bpr”. Electronic NFA registry indicates "GERMAN" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent combination of original and refinish, with some scattered light pitting in places. Very attractive original Nazi bakelite buttstock, “1498e” with clear eagle proof. Bore in gun is extremely fine. Bolt is also extremely fine. Bores of other barrels are extremely fine, Nazi barrel has a particularly shiny bore. Paint on assault drums and can is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp and smooth. This is a select-fire machine gun. The MG-34 is own of the most desired collectible German machine guns from WWII. It was the belt fed gun which was the staple of the German army from the start of WWII until 1942 when it started to be replaced (Afrika Corps first) with the MG-42. It is the absolutely iconic WW2 milled steel machine gun, and no WW2 German machine gun collection is complete without one. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-12-47.
