Beginning production in 1921, a total of 54,000 Handy Guns were produced before the National Firearms Act in 1934. Due to their numerous (albeit small) variations, these were found to be popular firearms during their time, and are still found to be quite popular with collectors today. The left side of the case colored receiver is marked "H&R HANDY-GUN", with the right side bearing the Harrington & Richardson two line address. The blued barrel is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. 410 GA. CHOKE" over the chamber. Chamber measures 3 - 1/2". Matching numbers include the frame, barrel, and forend. Brass bead front sight with notched rear sight on the receiver. This gun is interesting in that it lacks the spur on the rear of the pistol grip, that is commonly found to stabilize the Handy Gun in the operator's hand, instead rear of the grip bears two holes in order to affix an H&R wire stock. Wood furniture is comprised of a smooth walnut forend and a checkered walnut pistol grip. Pistol grip is marked "H&R ARMS COMPANY/ WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A./ PAT. PENDING". CONDITION: Frame retains good amounts of its factory applied case colored finish, showing handling marks and corrosion all around. Frame's hinge pin has numerous small strike marks on either side. Barrel retains the vast majority of it's factory applied blue finish, showing some light corrosion and scattered handling marks. Bore is bright and shiny throughout. Walnut wood furniture shows wear to their varnishes, as well as some handling and storage marks. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM WILL INCUR A $5.00 TRANSFER TAX IF TRANSFERRED ON AN ATF FORM 4. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON". MLW
