Incredibly rare and in top unmodified original condition Soviet Russian SG-43 belt-fed machine gun on original mount with armor plate. A total of 18 steel ammunition cans, each with a Russian metal link belt are included with this lot. The serial number on this gun contain Cyrillic letters which the BATF interpreted to be 4B182. Visible parts are matching on this gun. Mount does not match in serial number (and they never did). The Goryunov is unusual in that it cocks by pulling bottom handle below backplate. It fires from an open bolt, with bolt remaining in rear position until firing is actuated. This design aided in the cooling of barrel as it allowed air into chamber while bolt is in rear position. SG 43 did not see service until the very end of World War II, but it quickly replaced the Maxim guns in service thereafter due to its increased portability and accuracy, due in some part to its long sight radius. Since it uses the same belts and ammunition as the 1910 Russian Maxim, gun troops were able to use ammunition stores on hand. Electronic NFA registry indicates "RUSSIAN FEDERATION" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and is near excellent dark blue finish with some scratches and dings. Close inspection indicates this gun has been shot very little. Wooden handles are near excellent. Muzzle flash hider is rather crudely welded together but this is typical of Russian manufacturing processes at the time. They wanted functionality and to get these guns into the hands of the troops as quickly as possible. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. By all accounts this is fine shooting machine gun and a highly effective design. This is a rare opportunity to own a scarce Russian machine gun in museum level condition. Pretty much impossible to upgrade the condition and quality of this specimen. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-12-68.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
