Always desirable MP-38/40 machine gun comprised of an Inland Arms Co. registered receiver tube and surplus components. The bottom of the fluted receiver is stamped "MP-38/40" followed by "MAN'FD BY INLAND ARMS CO./ AUSTIN, TEXAS". Lower assembly is stamped "MP40/ bnz. 42", indicating manufacture by Steyr in 1942. Barrel nut, resting bar retainer, and rear sight bear Steyr eagle over "623" Waffenamts. Barrel, bolt, and recoil spring assembly are unmarked. Matching numbers are present on the lower assembly, rear sight, barrel nut, and front sight cover. Complete with two additional World War II vintage magazines. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finishes, exhibiting some wear and marks from use overall, with the lower assembly exhibiting some areas of thinning that show through to patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting some areas of light oxidation, and retains good rifling throughout. Bakelite components exhibit scattered storage and handling marks, with a few small chips and losses that do not affect serviceability. A nice and always desirable MP-38/40 machine gun that is ready for the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
