High condition Colt 1921AC Thompson with Cutts compensator and clear “JHB” inspection mark clearly visible on right side of receiver. Unmarked Cutts compensator. Gun retains 1921 internal parts with original oiler within the buttstock trap. Buttstock has nice clear anchor cartouche at leading edge. Accessories include one original Colt 1920 patent date 20-round magazine, four 30-round stick magazines, five 20-round Bridgeport magazines, and one 50-round Crosby drum. Although many Thompson machine guns were produced, especially during WWII, it is the Colt Thompson with the vertical forend and Cutts compensator which is the most attractive and iconic of all American machine guns. Certainly, it has the most recognized silhouette. Electronic NFA Registry indicates "COLT" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent deep lustrous original blue finish with some slight loss of finish to gray patina at the forward edge of the charging handle slot, where the charging stud contacts the receiver, and at the contact points where the stock hardware meets the lower receiver, and some loss of finish to a pleasing gray patina at the buttplate. Wood is near excellent, a beautiful rich brown color with some very light handling marks. Magazines are likewise in very high condition. Bore is fabulous, shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. One of the best condition specimens of this model and one that the discerning collector/investor should take notice of. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-12-65.
