Very scarce modification of the Reichsrevolver design, presumably made after WWI by Geissler & Hast, Filiale (Translates: Branch Office), Dresden (Germany). As per the Officer's Model Reichsrevolver, this model has a 5.5 inch octagonal/round barrel with fixed front sight and notched rear sight. Manufacturer and location markings are hand scribed on top strap. Serial number "3" is marked on the ejector rod housing (inner surface) and rear face of cylinder. Crown/Crown/U proofing on right side of barrel and frame. Details of the cylinder axle release, thumb safety, configuration of hammer, trigger, loading gate, grip, and lanyard ring are as per the Officer's Model Reichsrevolver. Modification relates to the ejector assembly whose spring-loaded housing, requiring a reconfiguration of cylinder axle, is now mounted to the right side of the frame and barrel. CONDITION: Approximately 50% original rust blue with fading and a few patchy areas of pitting, along the side of the revolver. Very good walnut checkered grips with blunted checkering but no splits or significant losses. Surprisingly bright bore with sharp rifling. Cylinder does not fully index upon cocking and trigger pull, requiring a small nudge to lock into position. Consult with a qualified gunsmith before shooting to ensure safe operation.
