Machined on left grip panel to accept a removable stock and fitted with the newly invented rotary rear sight and chambered for the .455 cartridge. This variation was approved on April 26, 1915 after receiving an order for 300 such examples with 150 stocks placed on April 24, 1915. Many of these military model pistols were ordered for the Royal Horse Artillery for use in the recently engaged Great War which England had entered in 1914. This example has Webley Scott stamp with 1915 date on left side of frame. The bolt has numerous British proof stamps, as is both sides of frame. The finish is a brushed dull blue and grips are made of black composition and there is a lanyard ring in butt. There is quite a bit of history written on this rare gun in the book entitled "Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols" by Gordon Bruce. CONDITION: Gun retains some blue that is mixing with soft patina. All legends are sharp. The grips are excellent. Gun has a mirror bore. Total production of this model was very low and given that it came out in time to see use during the entire First World War, surviving examples are virtually non-existent. A very hard to find British World War I era large caliber semi-automatic pistol. DB
