Serial No. 55737. 85,000 of these were manufactured by Femaru Fegyver es Gepgyar Rt, Budapest, 1941-44. 7.65mm auto, 4.33" barrel, seven round magazine (properly stamped). Stamped JHV 43. The German Government negotiated a contract for 50,000 7.65mm Auto 1937-type pistols with Pro AXIS Hungary in 1941. These were destined largely for the Luftwaffe. Except for the change of caliber, the first consignments were identical to the M1937. Shortly after supply had begun, however, the Luftwaffe demanded a manual thumb safety catch. This was added to the left rear of the frame, whereupon the slide marking is changed from the original FEMARU FEGYVER ES GEPGYAR RT 37' TO 'P. MOD. 37 KAL 7,65' with the German Waffenamt acceptance stamps. Left trigger bow is stamped with the Waffenamt "WaA173", eagle with swastika on slide. Gun retains 80% original war-time finish, thinning a bit on slide and grips trap. Perfect serrated walnut grips. Fine bore and action. Scarce Nazi contract gun. Comes with a CDC 43 coded holster and an extra unstamped magazine.
