.36 percussion caliber with a 6-1/2" barrel. This is a Series Three manufactured in Newark 1859 to 1868. This revolver has all matching numbers including wedge. It is a five shot, single action, percussion, with ten cylinder notches, etched cylinder, full octagon barrel with Manhattan Co. stamp on top. Cylinder still retains majority of the panel scenes with 1859 date. Cylinder is numbered. Left side of barrel flat stamped "B. Kittredge & Co. Cin. O.". Markings are sharp. Barrel has traces of the original blue in recesses. Cylinder is a soft grey patina. Frame colors have silvered out. Has a brass backstrap and trigger guard with traces of plating. Original one-piece walnut grips are very good. Small stress crack on right and left panel. Very good strong bore. Cylinder indexes correctly but hammer is missing last notch. Alignment is perfect. Comes in an original era flap holster with an original belt that is broken. Has an original small U.S. brass buckle. A third of the stitching of holster has rotted on back. Overall, a nice, clean, as found Manhattan that bears the rare dealer retail markings.
