Captain Jack Crawford was referred to as "The Poet Scout", was renowned as one of the finest Army scouts of the Indian Wars, and rose to international fame as one of the stars of the Buffalo Bill Wild West show as it traveled the world. This book was recovered in suede with the title in gold on leather. It is a book of his poems and is signed in pen "J.W. Crawford 'Captain Jack'" on the introductory fly page. The next page has a beautiful drawing of Captain Jack. It was published in 1908 by the Roycrofters at their book ranch East Aurora. Most of the poetry is based on his adventures in the Wild West. It is a beautiful volume with an exceptional signature.
