This is a typical London made British sporting rifle, built using the famous Martini action. Features full octagon barrel, sporting front sight, four-leaf long range express safari sight, top of barrel is fully matted, checkered forend with horn tip, sling eye in stock and integral sling eye in barrel, checkered pistol grip stock, and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. Top of barrel is stamped "ROBERT HUGHES & SONS BIRMINGHAM". All metal is a smooth plum-brown patina. Stock is proud to metal, checkering worn, with the usual dings. Frame has decorative engraving along edge. Fine working order. Strong, clean rifled bore. Quality made, turn of the century British single shot sporting rifle.
