On page 294 of the book "Lugers at Random" it explains that this gun was made for contract sales as well as sales to certain German quasi-military groups and is supposed to have either commercial or military type proofs. This Luger has no proofs at all and never has had any. A very interesting gun knowing that the Germans were fanatical about proofing everything. Features include; round barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight on rear link, thumb safety marked "GESICHERT" in the upper position, extractor marked "GELADN", center toggle link marked "MAUSER", P-08 on left side of frame. This is an all matching numbers gun. Magazine is an FXO with black plastic bottom. Gun retains approximately 98% of the original factory applied finish with just a few slight handling marks. Black molded plastic grips. Great bore with sharp lands and grooves.
