Manufactured 1903. The Model 1902 Second Model M&P was built on the round butt K frame featuring four screw, double action, pinned barrel. All matching numbers on barrel, cylinder and frame. Second Model was one of the rarest, produced only in 1902 and 1903. This is an ultra rare target version with adjustable rear sight, Patridge style front sight blade, six shot, double action, and case colored hammer and trigger with balance nickel finish. Nearly full coverage engraving; typical scroll with punch dot background, listed in letter as style three engraving with nickel finish and pearl grips. Therefore it letters all the way as a factory nickel 1902 Second Model target. Factory letter states this revolver was sent February 7th, 1903 to Belknap Hardware in Louisville, Kentucky. Barrel retains approximately 90% or better original nickel, balance cleaned to nickel appearance. Frame retains approximately 95% original nickel, areas not nickeled blend perfectly. Traces of colors on hammer and trigger. Pearl grips have the gold medallions and are near mint. Perfect timing and action. Strong, clean bore. Very rare, factory engraved early pre-war Second Model.
