Made from 1886 to 1905 this No. 3 Match Grade A comes with a half round-half octagon blued finish barrel with very strong lands and grooves. Case hardened falling block action with Hepburn patent mark on left side. Single trigger and plain walnut front stock with nickel forend cap. Round knob pistol grip walnut stock with cut checkering and a Swiss style nickel plated buttplate. Topped with a tang mounted graduated peep sight and a standard sporting rear sight. Front sight blade blank. Octagon area retains 95% of original blue finish; round section of barrel retains 70% original blue, mixing evenly with a plum patina. Caliber marked on bottom of barrel. Remington stamp on top flat. Case colored side lever release frame retains approximately 35% original case colors, some quite bright; balance patina. 85-90% nickel on buttplate. Near mint wood. Strong bore and fine action. Fine, early single shot target rifle with rare tang sight.
