This is a fairly typical Colt factory First Model Richards conversion from percussion to centerfire. The barrel was period shortened from 8" and has a razor sharp barrel address. There was a solder repair at the base at one time, it could be reshaped for better eye appeal. Has the proper cross hatch ejector rod head. Matching serial number "2379" can be found on frame, barrel, trigger guard, iron backstrap and cylinder. Number "1154" on conversion ring with sight is the assembly (never matching). The Navel battle scene on rebated cylinder is 70% visible. All metal is a grey patina with usual marring on the screw heads. Walnut grips are very good, shy and chipped at toe. The backstrap has four kill marks. These conversions were done in the early 1870's. Indexes and lines up correctly. Strong clean bore. Great Western look with lots of eye appeal.
