Approximately 1,000 of these were manufactured 1866-70. The most distinctive features is the spur trigger. This example bears the Naval inspector stamp on top of barrel, Remington address and 1861 patent date. Aside from the anchor there are no visible inspector marks on grip, nor is there any frame stamps of any kind. Barrel retains approximately 90% of the original rust blue starting to patina with razor sharp legends. Frame does have traces of case colors but is basically grey patina. The screws still have the majority of their fire blue finish. Flashes of case colors on hammer. Stocks are excellent with no cracks. Fine bore and action. Unusual, early Model 1865. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
