FANTASTIC EARLY WEATHERBY ALL OPTIONS CROWN CUSTOM ON MAUSER ACTION. WEATHERBY CROWN CUSTOM 837 .270 WM MODERN; C&R Cal .270 Wby Mag. 24" bbl marked WEATHERBY 270 MAGNUM and CHROME BORE. Early pre-1958 manufacture using an FN Mauser action and marked WEATHERBY/SOUTH GATE CALIF. Receiver, scope bases and 4.5" of bbl are factory engraved in foliate arabesque patterns with fine stippled background. Checkered bolt knob, jeweled bolt and follower. High grade flame maple stock features foliate carved panels on forestock and pistol grip and geometric inlaid sections on either side of receiver and right side of stock. Ebony forend tip and gripcap, black Pachmayr pad. Gold washed and foliate engraved trigger guard and floorplate features a Bengal tiger in high-relief. Diamond shaped gold nameplate under forestock engr "Chase Ritts". Mounted with Zeiss Diavari-C 3-9x scope. CONDITION: Very Fine as partially restored. Retains most of its restored blue finish. Light handling marks and hand wear at contact points on stock. Gold wash on floorplate is thinning. Optics clear, missing one turret cap.Crisp mechanics.
