SCARCE EARLY A.H. FOX A GRADE 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN.A.H. FOXA30081016GAMODERN; C&RCal. 16 ga. 28" Krupp steel bbls. 2-1/2" chambers. Full length matted top rib with Marbles brass tipped synthetic ivory front bead. Dbl triggers, extractor, automatic safety. Round pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point patter with 13-7/8" LOP over lined HRBP. Splinter forearm with Deeley release checkered in 2-point pattern. Frame is nicely engraved in early A grade Philly pattern and marked "Ansley H. Fox" on sides. There is barely visible evidence of an early owners SSN on watertable. All visible SN's match. Bore diameter: left -.658, right - .658. Bore restrictions: left - .026 (FULL), right - .011 (MOD). Wall thickness: left - .032, right - .032. Drop at heel: 2-3/4", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 5 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 13-7/8". CONDITION: Very fine as restored. Retains nearly all of its properly restored finish to both wood and metal with only minor handling marks. Near invisible evidence of an old repair on left stock cheek. Bores are very good with some leading. Mechanics are crisp. A nice lightweight early small bore Fox. 52269-1 JSL (2,500-3,500)
