J. P. SAUER & SOHN 16 GAUGE X 8.57JR CALIBER DRILLING. J.P. SAUER DRILLING 263905 16/16/8.57 MODERN; C&R Cal. 16 ga/16 ga/8.57JR. 24" Krupp fluid steel bbls. 2-1/2" chambers. Full length matted top rib with flip-up mid sight and blade front sight. Scalloped action with Greener crossbolt, side safety and marked on sides "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" with light scroll engraving. Double triggers, extractor, non-auto safety. Rnd knob pistol grip buttstock, checkered in 2-point pattern with small cheekpiece on left side, mounted for sling swivel and 14-1/8" LOP over Sauer Brand lined HRBP. Splinter forearm with Deeley release, checkered in 2-point pattern. All visible SNs match. Weight: 7lbs 3oz. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain approximately 80% orig blued finish. Receiver has toned mostly grey with traces of orig case color. Buttstock and forearm are good as restored, checkering has thinned. There is an old repair on left stock cheek with brass screw in front of side safety. Evidence of an old stamp on left side of receiver in stock and small grain separations noted. Mechanics are functional, bores are bright and shiny with some wear to rifling. 51873-16 JSL (1,250-1,750)
