MODERN; C&R Cal. 32 W.S. 26" oct bbl, full magazine, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address rolled in front of rear sight with Cal. mark to rear of sight. Left rear flat of bbl is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER". Upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER / PAT. AUG. 21, 1884". SN is stamped on lower forward part of receiver. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube show 50-60% blue finish that has dulled with high point wear, a few scratches and some slight erosion at the muzzle. Markings are sharp, sights very good, bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver retains 10% blue, mostly on left side with balance turning a silver/grey patina. Hammer and lever are also a grey/brown patina. Markings are sharp. Wood is good, slightly undersized and shows and old refinish and a few handling marks. Buttplate is a mottled grey/brown patina as is the forend cap. Mechanics are fine. A nice, early 1894 Winchester rifle for the entry level collector. 52405-4 TEP (1,000-1,400)
