FOUR BOXES OF COLLECTOR AMMUNITION, WINCHESTER 44 HENRY FLAT, 50 CALIBER GALLAGERS CARBINE CARTRIDGES, AND BOX OF 1873 DATED COLT 45 AMMUNITION.Winchester green label square corner 44 flat rim fire cartridges. Box appears full, however has been dropped and is broken in several locations and has subsequently been taped shut. One box Frankford Arsenal cartridges for Colt's Revolver Cal. 45, dated December 1873. These are the early internally primed central fire cartridges, the first of the first and unbelievably rare. Two boxes containing ten Gallager's Breech Loading Carbine ammunition with caps, marked Poultney's Metallic Cartridges, patented December 15, 1873. SIZE: CONDITION: Green label 44 rim fire box has a very good label, both top and sides. However box has, as previously has been mentioned, been dropped and broken and repaired with clear cellophane-type tape. Box appears to be full of all 50 cartridges, some of which are visible but has not been opened to verify quantity. Frankford Arsenal Colt Revolver cartridges appear to contain all 12 cartridges, but box has been dropped at some previous point and damaged, and then later repaired with clear cellophane-type tape. Cartridges are visible and label is very strong. Gallager cartridges box one is exceptionally fine, nicely sealed, but does have the application of clear cellophane-type tape on one end and appears full and un-molested. Box two of Gallager cartridges has suffered being opened, label slightly tattered, and repaired again with white cellophane-type tape, but appears to be full. Cartridges have not been removed for an accurate count. 52552-20 TDW (2,000-4,000)
