CIVIL WAR ERA FRENCH PERCUSSION MUSKET WITH NICELY CARVED NAME "THOMAS KING". MAUBEUGE FRENCH P-1853 MUSKET NSN 73 Cal. 73. 55-1/4" overall, 40-1/4" smooth bore bbl with Maubeuge bbl and stock markings, dated 1859. French unit markings also stamped in stock. Confederate''s imported quantities of surplus French and Belgium muskets and this could be one as noted by name carved in stock. CONDITION: Good overall. Iron is cleaned and pitted overall. Stock is sound, weathered with putty repairs. Mechanically functional with smooth pitted bore. 52594-67 JS (800-1,200)
