GROUP OF SIX EARLY EUROPEAN POWDER FLASKS.Four flasks are flattened horn for wheelocks and iron and brass mounted. Circular donut flask also of wheelock era is brass and bone mounted. Small silver mounted flask also appears early with thistle decoration. SIZE: PROVENANCE: Outstanding estate collection of Confederate and historical arms of Morris Racker. CONDITION: Three of the wheelock flasks are good to very good and appear as made with iron patina, smooth to weathered horn surfaces as can be seen in photos. The large scrimshawed flask with figural design has replaced wood top though it is old. Two small flasks are also good to very good. Silver top to small flask appears replaced. Donut flask appears complete, though missing a couple pins holding brass mounts and one large hairline. The strap for small silver mounted flask is a recent addition. 51958-35 JS (1,500-2,500)
