GROUP OF 3 REPRODUCTION COLT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVERS. COLT SAA/SHERIFF/SHERIFF NSN 45/38/45 MODERN; C&R 1) Cal. 44-40. 7-1/2" bbl. 2) Cal. 41. 3" Sheriff's Model with orig Colt double medallion plastic grips. 3) Cal. 44-40. 4" Sherrif's Model. These three guns were made by master machinist Glen Marose of Missoula, Montana. Mr. Marose made facsimile Colts in the highest quality that were never numbered, marked or finished but are exact near copies of the patterns he made such as these. Mr. Marose was born in 1936 and started making guns in the 1950's. He supplied facsimile Colt parts for many years from the 1960's through the 1990's to several parts companies. His facsimiles are among the very best made and many have been finished and sold as orig. Mr. Bentley had these guns in his collection so he could compare guns offered as orig in the market that could have been suspect. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Extremely fine overall, heavily greased internally such that actions are sloppy or frozen. Scattered areas of staining and light rust. 53091-104 JS (5,000-7,000)
