Deep, rich factory blue finish overall with vivid case colors on hammer and trigger. 2pc Smith & Wesson hard rubber monogrammed grips. These large frame dbl action Smith & Wessons were truly Smith & Wesson's first foray into the dbl action world. They were known for their outstanding fit and finish. This outstanding example is housed in what appears to be its orig factory purple pebble grain finished cardboard box with both top and bottom label on edge indicating "FRONTIER" on top label and "SMITH & WESSON DOUBLE 44 ACTION BLUED.6 1/2 INCH" on the bottom. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. Bore and chambers of cyl are excellent. Mechanics function properly with a strong a solid lock-up and crisp action.
