WWII WALTHER P-38 COLLECTOR'S GROUPING.WALTHERP384720I9MMHolsterMODERN; C&R; IMPORTCal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on slide, with the addition of an eagle N commercial proof at front on right. Eagle 359 inspected. Eagle N proof & Eagle 359 proof on right barrel lug. Matching SN's slide, frame & barrel. Circle with "TRA" on left trigger guard web. Right side of frame marked with eagle N, Swedish shield with three crowns, "96". We believe this to be a postwar Swedish police marking, although we cannot verify it. Chocolate Bakelite grips. WaA706 mag. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. Marked on back "bdr/41", "P38". PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refurbished. Minor wear on high points, some scratches on top of bbl. All markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is worn with pitting. This is the 3rd variation featuring a dull blue finish. Eagle 359 inspected. This gun is described on pg. 238, pictured pg. 239 of The P38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back "cww", WaA750, "1941", "P38". PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good with a fair amount of orig finish. Wear on high points, muzzle, front strap. Minor pitting on bbl. All markings clear. Grips are fine with minor handling marks. Bore is worn with moderate pitting, good rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster has light scratches & scuff marks, shows wear. Appears to have been re-dyed. This gun is one of only 3 known with this marking. Eagle 359 inspected. Eagle 359, WaA706 marked mag. Matching slide frame bbl. Chocolate Bakelite grips. This gun is described on pg. 268, pictured pg. 269 of The P38 Pistol, Vol I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by brown leather clam shell holster marked on back "lyo", WaA77, "P.38". PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good with a majority of orig finish. Worn on front strap, high points. Markings are clear. Areas of minor pitting at rear of frame. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore has strong rifling with very slight roughness throughout. Fine mechanical function. Brown Bakelite grips. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Eagle 359 inspected, gun and mag. Accompanied by black leather holster. Berlin maker, dated 1944. Marking difficult to make out due to scuff mark. Belt loops reattached with rivets. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton.
