(1922) Standard configuration for this pattern, with 24" round barrel having standard and two leaf sight. All correct markings and proofs are on barrel and action. Other features include typical pear shaped bolt knob, single trigger, and hinged floorplate release with pivoting lever lock. Relatively plain European walnut steel capped pistol grip stock measures 14-1/4" over original horn buttplate with embossed Mauser logo. Stock features standard point pattern checkering at grip, small right hand cheekpiece, and schnabled forend. Rifle is complete with early riveted on carrying sling. Weight: 7 lbs. 0 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, original. Metal parts retain approximately 90% original blue with light scattered freckling on barrel and action with heavier overall freckling on floorplate and trigger guard. Bolt stop, floorplate release lever and trigger retain most of their original bright temper blue. Floorplate release probably 30 - 40%. Stock retains over 90% original finish with a number of light marks, a few heavier dings, and a small area of cleaning and refinishing on right side of comb. Buttplate is also excellent with some very minor insect damage. Bore is very fine with frosting and slight erosion at throat. Action is smooth. Sling leather has darkened and shows considerable use. A very fine example of this pattern, seldom found in good original condition. MGM 74
